“Life is about capturing the
moment in its beauty, and telling a story to every beautiful moment.”
While a lot of photographs can be definitive of what was
taken, only a handful can truly express the emotions that were immortalized.
Because they are best shown when captured in the most unexpected moments.
Jo Lim is a Certified Wedding Specialist. As the need for proper documentation for
her business arises, she took photography lessons back in 2008 under Dennis
Balangue with her trusty point-and-shoot camera. Falling in love with
this form of art has driven her to enroll in more workshops from the Basic Photography at FPPF under Ador
Pamintuan and Cecilia Angeles to more specialized disciplines like food
photography under Mark Floro & Ricky Ladia.
The idea of immortalizing one-of-a-kind moments in life and
turning them into art is what drove Jo to pursue a career with photography. Jo keeps her shots simple: expressions of
life, as natural and unexpected as it can be.
From making food too good to eat to playing with lighting to show off
one’s angle as the best, Jo has it all. One would be surprised to learn that Jo
rarely directs her subject; she lets her
subjects be what they want to be and just shoots them in their natural beauty
and candid moments.
With humble beginnings as VA and freelancing for other
studios, Jo finally registered Candids and Poses Photography in January 2009 and has established her name specializing
in food & product photography, & events.
Today, Jo is usually clicking away and capturing most of the candidness seen in weddings, baptisms and kiddie parties and has commissioned projects for corporate clients such as Mocha Blends, Figaro to name a few.
